This is going to be a bit long winded , my Kia Rio wont start, it started been intimately but now wont start ar all unless I bump it, then start it every hour and it starts, leave it up to 3 hours and I have to bump it off again. bought a new batter and plug. If the engine does not start, do not push or pull the vehicle to start it. This could result in a collision or cause other damage. In addition, push or pull starting may cause the catalytic converter (if equipped) to be overloaded and create a fire hazard. If engine turns over normally but does not start. 1. Check fuel level. 2. Our 2009 Kia CEED (1.4 Petrol) seems to be immobilised and was flat-bedded home by the AA. Turns over but won't start - tried both keys. Changing the antenna coil didn't fix it. Any suggestions please on what to try next? One suggestion is to bypass the imobiliser but I don't know anyone experienced in hotwiring cars! I replaced the fuel filter (non genuine Mahle filteroriginal part on lots of other vehicles and my preferred make of filter) when i took the van for a test run after the service the van stalled and the engine light came onthe code related to fuel system fault. I couldn't see any fuel leak, but took the filter off again and ran diesel Sorry, been very busy. The Cee'd is a diesel and has just been in to the garage this morning. They have diagnosed the fault as part of the immobiliser and have replaced it within the hour and re-coded the keys. I will put the actual fault codes up on this forum later when I get it back. Tried with new battery. No luck. Yesterday road assistance could start it with a jump starter. There are only airbag icon slightly showing in the dashboard when trying to start. Else nothing. Even the horn won’t sound. The updated Toyota Corolla takes on the Honda Civic and Kia Ceed in a three-way hatchback clash because despite the Ceed’s start-stop system and the potential for engine-off coasting in Eco HnPZDk.
