Step 2: Test the EGR Position Sensor. Using your multimeter, measure the resistance across the EGR position sensor terminals. Compare the readings with the manufacturer’s specifications. If the readings are outside the recommended range, you may need to replace the sensor. Step 3: Inspect the EGR Valve.
The valve has to be held very still for a measurement. The pot resistance is typically 5k (2k to 10k say) from end to end, with a smoothly varying resistance on the signal to either end. I have had a lot of electrical problems with the EGR on my 1.8, which is very similar. Just bad contacts inside the unit, both on the pot & the motor.
If your van is already at the dealer I would request this. Common problems that can prevent your regen from turning on are; -EGR sensor #1. -Air flow sensor out of range (usually from leaking EGR) -DEF tank heater. -Reductant heater circuit (P20BA) (DEF line heater) Reply.

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P2413 stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) System Malfunction. The EGR system is designed to lower combustion temperatures, thereby reducing oxides of nitrogen (NOx) emissions. At the heart of the system is the EGR valve, a device that allows exhaust gases to flow into the intake manifold and combine with the
