This would only happen every other time you rocked the car, however as the problem became more common I noticed the rear passenger door not actually locking. Since then I have had to manually lock the door, however on occasions it does open with the main central locking when activated by the key.
Just bought a 1997 Mondeo Ghia 1.8 TD estate. The remote fob or the key in the drivers door lock results in a lock/unlock cycle but using the key in the passenger door opens/locks all the other doors For a couple of years had an occasional problem where there was no ignition at all when the car was warm, usually from the SUN at first.
I’ve tried changing the back door module and erased all codes in all modules, and still exactly the same problem. Changed the front drivers door module and still the same problem. Tried removing the battery and charging it up while it’s disconnected for about an hour, put it back on, showing 13.4v and still same problem.
2009 ford mondeo 2.0 tdci. I unlocked the car and heard the locks move, opened the door and the alarm went off. Couldn't stop the alarm with the fob so put the key in the ignition to stop the alarm. A … read more
Original problem: does not lock drivers side front and rear door using remote central locking. Manually locking drivers door only locks that door, i.e. no manual central locking of other doors. Begins as an intermittent fault; As Problem worsens: Drivers Mirror / window controls fail to operate windows / mirrors on passenger side of vehicle.
It tells your Ford Mondeo’s alarm controller whether or not the door is locked. It’s usually connected to or part of the power door lock actuator. If your car’s alarm keeps going off when you open the door, the door lock sensor still thinks the doors are locked. Also, some vehicles don’t like to be opened with their keys.

96 door lock problems - far0n : The drivers side door lock on my 96 fiesta has developed an annoying problem. It'll lock, but won't unlock. My 95 Mondeo had exactly the same problem not long back so I'm thinking this must be quite common with Ford door locks. My red key doesn't work either.
My Mk4 mondeo 57 plate has finally let me down (not in a big way). I locked it up the other day and noticed the rear passengers door did not lock. You a can hear the motor trying to pull the lock on though. I have taken the door panel off and all is ok. The cable moves just fine. The door will lock manually..It just seems the motor has lost
